Questions for Wedding Reception Venue

If you have found a venue you like, or are still in the process of choosing one, here are our recommended wedding reception venue questions you may want to ask before booking! 

Reception Room Questions

  • Where does the wedding breakfast and evening reception take place?
  • Are there a choice of rooms?
  • What is the minimum / maximum number of guests that we can invite?
  • What is your guest capacity for the evening reception?
  • Can we hire our own DJ/Band/Musician/Singer, etc?
  • Is there a bar available for use at the evening reception?
  • Will our guests have access to a private toilet?
  • When can we come and decorate the reception/ceremony rooms?
  • Can we supply our own table cloths/place cards, etc.?
  • Can you supply place cards, favours, flowers, etc.?

Wedding Venue Questions

  • Where does the civil ceremony take place?
  • Where are the private indoor and outdoor areas for wedding photos?
  • What time can we drop the wedding cake off?
  • Do you have an officiant for hire?
  • Do you have a toastmaster for hire?
  • What is your guest parking capacity?
  • What is your guest accommodation capacity?
  • What is the price per room?
  • When do I need to reserve the rooms?
  • What time will the rooms be available from on the day?

Wedding Menu Questions

  • How many guests can be catered for at the wedding breakfast?
  • What is the price of the meal per head?
  • Do you have a choice of menus?
  • Can we have one or two courses instead of three?
  • Do we get a choice of buffet menu?
  • Do you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
  • What wine and champagne do you supply?
  • Can we supply our own alcohol instead to be deducted from the price?

A venue should provide you with as much information as possible to make sure your day runs smoothly and that you don't have to keep contacting them in the lead up to your wedding day.
